Summary of
position
Responsibility: Count and post totals material, equipment, merchandise or supplies in stock. Organize and produce pick documents for Customer Service orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Receive, count, route and put away in-bound material in required zones.
Assist with audits, cycle counts and inventory discrepancy research.
Process and maintain a diversity of inventory transactions.
Pick parts from stock locations for Work In Process and customer service orders.
Assist in the arranging of areas within Stores for better utilization of space and ease of handling.
Request, interpret and take actions as required on inventory systems information such as stock status, (hot) pick requests, open allocations, activity and shortage reports.
Contact transport agents and/or cargo carriers as needed to support shipment/ delivery requirements. Generate required shipping papers and forward same to Traffic Department.
Build boxes, crates and skids and package out-bound material as required for
repair
Part shipments.
Assist in the reconciliation of order discrepancies.
Order and maintain storage of operating supplies necessary to support Small Parts Shipping in Durham.
Operate powered material handling equipment, including overhead cranes.
Operate company PC and mainframe
computer
applications in Inventory, Purchasing and Work-In-Process.
Other duties may be assigned or required for the performance of this position.
Job Requirements:
High school education.
Requires interpretation in the various storing and stocking applications, checking of records and data.
PC Skills
3 years of stock room experience
