Job Description:
Summary of Position Responsibility: Responsible for the Payroll operations from the source of authorization to delivery of pay checks, maintenance of earning records, and compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation of wages, taxes, and all payroll liabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Perform all regular duties associated with the preparation, generation, and distribution of weekly and bi-weekly payroll checks for Dover, Durham, Bolingbrook, and Fort Worth employees.
Process all requested commission and bonus payments.
Pre-audit time clock data; verify accuracy and Supervisor approvals; identify and reconcile errors prior to downloading to Payroll system.
Maintain all records in connection with payments made to all employees. Accountable for unclaimed checks.
Assume responsibility for non-routine, unscheduled payroll transactions, including requesting replacement checks, preparing and requesting hand-drawn checks for time & attendance errors and terminations.
Responsible for all payments to the appropriate agencies for: US bonds, United Way, Health club and home & auto insurance.
Create, verify, and transmit various files and reports to internal customers and outside vendors.
Prepare mortgage verifications, worker's compensation, and unemployment inquiry reports as they relate to employee compensation.
Input, verify, and maintain time-off data ensuring accurate vacation balances, earned sick time, time taken amounts and balances in the Time & Attendance and Payroll systems, and provide management reporting.
Enter and maintain payroll related employee fields such as W-4 information, direct deposits, payroll deductions, garnishments, 401(k), etc.
Coordinate STD benefits with Benefits Coordinator. Coordinate supplements to worker's compensation with company nurse.
Audit all employee information and pay data for accuracy. Review various verification reports.
Assume responsibility of payroll administration in the absence of the Payroll Supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge &
Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
2-3 years payroll experience
Proficiency Microsoft Office Excel and Word
Attention to detail
Typing skills

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
