Oyster River is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor supervised by the Director of Student Services. The position will have a focus on middle and high school students and families.
Must hold either a DOE certification or Licensed by the State of NH as a Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor or School Psychologist.
This position will provide supports and services to students, parents, and school staff and assist in identifying needs that interfere with learning and adjustments to school. Will help students with personal, emotional, and social difficulties so that they can find success within the school environment. In addition, they will provide school-based therapy and collaborate with outside support services or agencies to as a wraparound model for behavioral health. Will work closely with school counselors, school psychologists, LADC, and administration.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists students with adjustment to school.
  • Provide casework service for individual students and their families to support their needs so that they might access their education more fully. This may include (but is not limited to): home visits with administration and/or truancy officer, collaboration with families regarding family system concerns, student behavioral support plans including goal setting and skill-building, as well as consulting and collaborating with other school personnel as a student's caseworker.
  • Deliver individual and group counseling as part of the MTSS Tier 2/3 model.
  • Develop effective professional relationships with all levels of the educational organization and the community.
  • Work independently, give and take directions, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Speak professionally and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Provide crisis intervention and response when necessary.
  • Conduct safety assessments and follow-up with families.
  • Support students' return to school after long-term absences, specifically those students who were admitted to mental health facilities.
  • Work with students connected to DCYF, Juvenile Court, the Welfare Department and other community resources as appropriate.
  • Provide community and family education programs to support student and family mental health.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
